The Maggies are by far the more accurate, and detailed speaker, but less dynamic than the VMPS. The 1.6 sounds wide open and natural versus a somewhat colored VMPS sound.VMPS does have stronger bass, if somewhat boxy sounding versus the tight bass of the Maggies - though a bit light in that area (especially below 40Hz)!
VMPS does have some ardent supporters that swear by the speakers...so they must be hearing something good!
