The P1s have the Focal tweeter which isn't a soft-dome. I just got my pair last Thursday, spent Thursday and Friday night assembling them and all weekend enjoying them. They replaced my PSB Image 4Ts and they are much more open, detailed and have a wider, deeper soundstage. They are also smoother without sounding rolled off; turning up the volume just makes it louder but in no way harsher or brighter.
Bass is also better than my PSB floorstanders. Not just deeper, but tighter and more well-controlled. They really get the percussives right: The snap on the skin of a drum with the resonance of the kit. Female voices are seductive and you can metallic of an acoustic guitar is stunningly real (I play guitar and this is one of my toughest tests).
I'm still familiarizing myself with their sound as they break in, but for the money (or twice as much) I'm already very impressed. Their overall presentation reminds me of the ProAc Tablettes I auditioned but I think they are better in every way.
