Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Hmmm.......

Well, if you already trim the cap values to 0.005-0.0005% tol., why are the new caps worth $1,200 dollars more? I believe this is the reason you posed that warranted such an increase in price.

BTW, while I'll agree that the type of drivers that you are using are more apt to benefit from tighter component values, 0.0005% tol. is silly. All good caps are hand peeled. This is more of a cleaning process after the ends have been sprayed and terminated. If those caps have been trimmed to 0.0005% tol. (highly questionable especially for very small values, but for the sake of argument), they will never hold that tolerance.

What exact proceedure do you use to trim your stock values?
