I've heard these arguments before. When you're dealing with off-the-shelf items close crossover tolerances may be unimportant. When you are not dealing with mass produced drivers close tolerances do become important. The level controls, by the way, have nothing to do with the coils or caps we use. As I understand it Moncrieff overwinds his caps and then peels off foil to achieve the desired value.

Why don't you read Skittercat's post again. It is beyond me why audiophiles would complain about a manufacturer who is much more careful about precision in design and manufacture, particularly when we don't charge for it the way people using the 5% or 10% parts do. Our stock caps and coils are trimmed to the same 1/2000th of 1%, by me, and it takes some time. Peter Moncrief does it the purist way and it costs more. Anyone whose heard the sonic benefits doesn't make specious arguments about why we do it.
