Re: studio 20's

The Studio Series from Paradigm have some impedance Variations that dip and rise , as it is part of how the speaker was designed. I have heard the 20's, 40's, 60's, 80's, and 100's on solid state amps. They all sounded good to my ears. I heard the studio 20's on an MC275 once. I thought they were a bit conjested in the mid range. I wondered why I did not like the Studio 20's on a valve amp and liked them on a solid state amp. I concluded that the varrations of the impedance in the studio 20's make it a poor match for an 6550 based amp. I am not familar with your amp, but if you are using a low powered valve amp, then I would suggest that you give other speakers a listen.
