I have the G partnered with Gravis, the Gravis gives that extra something in botton end ,it is dialled at 42Hz and the db knob at 10 o'clock so y understand it "works" when is needed so the G's more or less are not spoiled by thumb and boom they retain all of what are made for, plus that something..
I mainly listen to classical music ,Lieder and Jazz .I am very very happy with the result .The secrect IMHO is to have the sub in order to give you the sence of scene depth and lower harmonics of basses and organ..anyway all is a matter of taste ,but give the Gravis a chance its a hell good sub....and if set up correctly its there whwn needed...Thanks
