I use the vsm-m with the vzn 80 and la-150 and love the combination when partnered with the right cables (in my case Cardas GR interconnects and NR speaker cable) and the right room setup. After talking to Bobby you will realize proper setup is very important but rest assured he will be a tremendous help. My only reservation when I first decided on the vzn 80 was that I have a very large room and was unsure whether to go with the larger OTL, which in retrospect I probably should have. In comparison the OTL Merlin combination is amazing. In my house I have compared the OTL to a KR SET amp, Jadis integrated, copland integrated, ML-383 integrated, bryston 3b-st bryston 4b-st, sim moon W5, plinius sa -100 and belles 350A and nothing touches the magic of the merlin and joule combination. The HF are so smooth and sweet yet very detailed with the OTL. The variable feedback feature on the OTL is of great benefit gived some of the recording that exist. My second favorite amp for these speakers, which I also own is the belles 350A. I sometimes switch to the belles for its great control on the bottom end but as great as this amp is, (I think it is a steal for the money) it can't touch the transparency and synergy of the merlin-joule combo
