Since the "weight" passband occurs between 100 Hz and 200 Hz and since the "warmth" passband corresponds to the band of frequencies between 200 Hz and 350 Hz, I don't see how a properly set up sub-woofer will do much good (as they are optimized to create bass below 60 Hz). A sub could be set up to run "full-range" and add a lot of mud and thickness at least up to 150 Hz, but ideally you want flat (not peaky or boomy) response in the problem passbands.
