Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Re: Audio Note E/L Speakers

They create a sense of space that is about as detailed as my memory of assorted live concerts in good halls. The pinpoint stuff provides more mental gymnastics than musical satisfaction.

The Soliloquys probably did the pinpoint trick the best, but they can't hold a candle to the E's in terms of getting the music across.

Yes, the speakers like to be near the rear wall, preferably in corners. This is to control the bass, not to enhance it, as some might think. Audio Note stands, preferably mass-loaded, are key to getting the best from the speakers. Positioned right, and with the right gear in front of them, the bass is fast, tuneful, extended, powerful and very, very articulate.
Keep your ears and your mind open.
