I own a pair of Joseph Audio RM25si's and can't find any fault with them at all. I've had them for 9 months and have played lots of vinyl, CD and HDCD through them. My ears give out before the speakers do, when I crank it 'way up. It all sounds great, as long as the source material is OK. In my living room, the tonal balance and bass detail is perfect.
The only other speakers in their price range I would recommend are the Mark II version, though if you can find a new pair of the original RM25si at a discount, you won't feel slighted by the sound quality at all.
If you want a very musical but somewhat less detailed, heavier bass speaker for less than the RM25si Mark II, try the PSB Gold i.
