Though I can't really say how they will sound with the Plinius, the Tempo's I heard were driven by an Accuphase CD player, but the amp I can't remember. Sorry. The sound of the Tempo was one that immediately grabbed me. It helped that they were positioned according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The soundstage was simply phenomenal, with spectacular instrument separation. The midrange was striking. As you, I also listen to mainly classical music, and for that the Tempo's would be fine. Though, you will have to forego some of the bottom end, which might affect large classical pieces - but one that a subwoofer will easily correct. However, they are perfect for chamber and baroque music. Personally, I am waiting for a good deal on a Virgo, or maybe even a Libra. But, I know I would be happy with the Tempo as well.
