Re: Paradigm Performance Legend v.2

Being that the Legend is a powered tower and the Monitor 9 is a non powered speaker, they sound very different. The Monitor 9 is a more laidback speaker than say the monitor 7 or mini monitor. I have heard the Legend v2 with a Rotel receiver and it was not a bad sound for a powered tower. A bit more forward than say the Monitor 9. In the 3 different lines that Paradigm has, the Performance series is the budget line, the Monitor series is the mid-level line and the Referance series is the top-shelf stuff. A good powered sub teamed up with the monitor 9 would sound much cleaner and more musical than the Legend would in my opinion. As far as the Perforance series goes, the Titan is the best of the bunch. I have also heard the Phantom, a 2-way 6.5" floorstander in the Performace series and I prefer it over the Legend. If a powered tower is what you are looking for, check out the new Monitor 90p's or the older Monitor 70p's, as the are both great speakers.
