Any Aussies got an opinion on Whatmough Subwoofers?

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

I would appreciate your opinion and advice regarding these low-goers.
My local dealer suggested that it is better (for a straight stereo hi-fi rig) to try two of the smallest (Tornado) sub's instead of either of the larger ones. They sell for $1000 each, and are cheaper than buying two Typhoons ($2200). Between them is the Tempest for $1400. The salesman suggested that two smallies would give tighter, better-defined, bass, and would go (sufficiently) low with a higher output.
Is he right, and should I consider any other sub's? All comments and recommendations are most welcome. Thanks everyone.
