Dear RickMac,The output can be significantly altered due to length differences.
Even though the DC resistance of a loudspeaker cable is very low, skin effect causes it to rise dramatically at high frequencies (even without taking inductance into account).
Add inductance and capacitance to this, and you alter not only the impedance magnitude but also its phase.
The changes in the cable impedance could cause significant differences in the output of each speaker.
Make sure the speaker cables are always the same length.
