I don't know of anything inherently "wrong" with either speaker, although I am personally not a fan of speakers with built in amps/subwoofers because it adds complexity. I would suspect they sound significantly different that you will have a preference to one or the other based on listening to them. I WOULD NOT suggest buying any audio component, and speakers in particular without listening to them, preferably in your home and at a minimum with music that you are familiar with.I'd suspect that other more enlightened AA members could suggest speakers that may be better choices in this price range. Based on the speakers you mentioned, I have a suspicion you may be shopping U-bid or some other site where choices are somewhat limited (both of these models appear on Ubid frequently at substantial discounts).
I'd suggest listening to as many speakers in your price range as possible and letting your ears tell you whats best for you.
