suggestions needed for active crossover and stereo subs integration.

I'm figuring out ways to incorporate my Marchand XM6 and WM8 units with
my system and two Avalon MCS stereo subs with my Eidolons.
www.marchandelec.com
www.avalonmcs.com
I will not place the Marchand units between the spectral preamp and
spectral monblocks. Four ways to get the system going are:
1: Use the second preamp output of the spectral DMC-30SL to send the
signal to the marchand XM6 and WM8 then to the active Avalon subs. The
main spectral preamp will still be going as before to the monoblocks.
This will result in the eidolons getting full range from the sources and
the low pass crossover in the XM6 will effect the Avalon subs. The
highpass filter in the XM8 will not be used. This arrangement mimics the
REL subs in as much the main speakers still get a full range signal, the
subs are not connected to the amplifier speaker terminals like the REL
set up however, but via the second preamp output.
Accordingly, I have been told this will reduce the output impedence of
the spectral preamp by 1/2. It is listed as Output Impedance:
100 ohms . The input impedence of the spectral amps is
10K ohms.I have been told the 50% decrease of output impedence of the
spectral preamp won't be problematic with the spectral amps.

2: Place the XM6 and WM8 in line with each other , perhaps the wm8
before the XM6, and then connect the marchand unit highpass output into a preamp input
of the spectral. The meridian's main channels would go directly into the
marchand line level input. This would give my most often used source the
Avalon subs in it's playback chain, but any other source connected
directly into the spectral preamp would be without routing to the subs. This way the eidolons get highpassed crossovered signal.

3: Place the WM8 and XM6 into the tape loop of the spectral and allow
the volume controls of the XM6 to effect the gain of source playbacked
going directly into the spectral. The meridian would also be going into
the spectral , but its volume control would be used. For cd play back
from spectral dac, both the low pass and highpass volume controls will
be used together to alter playback volume as the volume control of the
spectral preamp is after the tape loop, and using that control would
effect only the highpass signal still going into the spectral amps via
the preamp, but not the lowpass signal which leave the XM6 crossover
before the highpass filtered signal goes back via the tape loop.
This way will allow all source connected into the spectral preamp to have a lowpass and highpass crossovered signal occur and the playback volume of the source could be controlled by the XM6 , other than when the meridian is the source as it has a volume control before the spectral preamp.

4: Use the 2nd input of the XM6 which is switchable, to connect
something like a tuner or DAC, the meridian is connected to the other
marchand input.
Then route the signal leaving the dac or tuner from the XM6 highpass
output into an input of the spectral preamp. This would get the highpass
filtered signal into the spectral amps. The low pass signal would go
into the WM8 and then into the avalon subs. The volume control of this
source would need to be the the controls of the XM6 as this is the only
way to control high and low pass volumes evenly.

The level matching between the eidolon and the avalon subs will be done
with the avalon subs vulume control adjusted to match the spectral
preamp/amp combo with the spectral preamp being set at unity gain pass
through setting.

Which brings me to the question of the tape loop output and input. The
spectral preamp lists the input inpedence as 15K ohms and the tape loop
output is not listed specifically, only the preamp output is listed as
100 ohms.
The marchand units have the following:
Input impedance: 100K
Output load capability: 100 Ohm min
Output impedance: 10 Ohm typ
Maximum input voltage: 25 V peak-peak (8.8 V RMS)
Maximum output voltage: 25 V peak-peak (8.8 V RMS)

So if going from tape out into marchand input which is 100K ohms, this
does not sound like a match for my low impedence MI-350 EVO. Maybe a
regular interconnect, non networked type for this as well as the signal
leaving the one marchand unit to go the other with 100 K ohm input
impedence. The signal leaving the highpass output is rated at 100 Ohms
and this will go into the tape input of the monitor loop. Perhaps this
is the place for a MI-350 EVO?

If the other option Meridian to WM8 to XM6 to spectral preamp is
selected, then again, I might not have my 350 EVO's connecting the
meridian outputs as is presently the case, but use something else for
the WM8 to XM6 to highpass output which then could be that EVO 350 as
it will go into the spectral preamp input with input impedence of 15K.
Again, this placement of the Marchand equipment before the spectral
preamp, will then not allow the other sources which are directly
inputted into the spectral from sending their signals to the Avalon
subs.
whew!! Any thoughts will be appreciated.
