I bought some speaker cables and interconnects ($96 for both pairs) from a DIYer named John DiCaro (spelling?) on eBay, and have been very pleased with them. For the speaker cables he uses silver-plated wire, in a quad-star braided configuration, with teflon insulation. They're a bit stiff, but they sound really clean!
