They replaced my Sonus Concertos, big improvement. They have an extremely nice balance that is neither too warm or too cold, just right. They have detail and transparency without sounding hard or edgy. I did some comparing against a set of N805s, there was quite a bit of similarity, but I preferred the Sapphires. I've read that others have made this comparison and liked the Sapphires better. I think I even remember a thread on here a while back where the two were compared. They're right in the middle of your price range, give them a try, I'm glad I did!
