AR9's are built with thin gauge single wire for internal connections.
This accounts for some of the lack of detail and imaging in the sound
from these speakers.
When I had the circular seals replaced and the speakers refurbished,
I replaced all the internal wire with thick gauge multi-stranded wire.
This results in a significant improvement in detailing and imaging to
the already good sound of these speakers, and will surprise you how
good a 20 year old speaker can still sound.
Be patient though, it took about 100 feet of wire and several days
to rewire the pair of AR9's.
