Depending on your room size I wouldn't worry too much about the Transcendent in the bass department. It is quite articulate, solid and fast. Your musical tastes could be a variable if you need more slam but I highly doubt it unless of course the room is too large. It is a superb amp with no obvious faults that draws attention to itself like many products do over time. It matches well with the Merlins easy load. I've owned the T-8 LN for almost 5 months and am enamored by this music making combo.
