Restoring crossovers of this vintage to their original function is basically a matter of replacing any electrolytic capacitors in the crossover and cleaning any pots. After 40 or 50 years, the electrolytics are basically shot. Replace them with your favorite audio grade caps. If you want to tweak beyond this, you could replace the chokes with your favorite audio grade choke.
