You have probably just fried the voice coil, and replacements should be available from the manufacturer so that an authorized agent could replace it.
Ordinarily, the tweeter is screwed to the front baffle, but may also have the equivalent of caulk or some non-resonant bonding agent between it and the baffle. Check with the local rep as to how they are secured. It usually is not that difficult to swap tweeters, so long as the leads are long enough to extend out of the cabinet a bit for access. The voice coil is also screwed into place, but is quite delicate.
If your the least bit inclined mechanically, it is not that tough.
I was always reluctant to box up the gear and let UPS have another chance at destruction.
