I used to have a pr. Cant say I heard them with the Arcam. I used two amps with mine: NEC 50mkII 50wpc and a Adcom 555 200wpc. I thought the Adcom pretty much blew the NEC out of the water in every aspect. I would recommend at least a good 100wpc amp with good tight control. The Adcom Mkii versions have a better smoother treble than the original, but both versions are great bass amps. Also a GOOD pr of heavy sturdy stands will help a lot too. I had a pr of 18" steel stands with lead shot that helped a great deal. Good Luck
