I am writing to ask for suggestions for repairing one of my speakers.I purchased a pair of TC-60s some months ago and found that one had a detached reflex port. I reattached it without difficulty. I've recently upgraded other parts of my system and I now can hear a very slight buzz from the tweeter of the same speaker. I can only hear it with very pure tones such as single piano notes. It sounds as if there was a piece of tissue paper lying on the piano strings. Reversing the speaker cables at the speakers doesn't move this sound to the other speaker.Listening close to the speaker I can hear that the sound is coming from the tweeter, not from inside the cabinet or from the woofer.
I have a spare tweeter. My thought is that this speaker was probably dropped sometime in the past causing both these problems. I think the right thing to do is to replace the tweeter with the spare. The tweeter connection is soldered, so I don't want to do this if I should do something else first.
Thanks in advance for your help.
