my friend uses adcoms 5800 on top and 5400 on bottom for his reQuests. a single nelson pass designed 5400 would be adequate it seems to me, they have quite a punch.
ive heard the aerius demoed using a nad 340 integrated to xlnt effect. a 5400 (125wpc) can be had as refurb on audioadvisor.com for $350 leaving quite a bit for software or other enhancing purchases.
there is quite a bit of snobism when it comes to adcoms so dont be surprised at the catcalls i have genereated.
the 5500 realllly has BALLS at 200wpc! my friends sys is quite refined, counterpoint sa5000, sota sapphire/mmt/orotfon jubilee + lyra helikon. say what they will, the adcoms are damn good.
