Again due to my inexpierence don't really know how to answer that basic question!! I'm guessing the 5 channel AV system would best satisfy my needs. Currently have a Sony 61 rear projection television and a Sony DVD player which are housed in an entertainment center(great room/vaulted ceiling 22'x24'). As my wife has placed conditional requirements (aesthetics) reference my piece meal system, I have been afforded limted rack space (lol). Also would like to be able have as much current HT technology as afforded on my limited budget without great loss in music capacity. Initially was looking at the Denon AVR-3802 as a possibility, but have read numerous poor reviews reference it's music reproduction. Specifically as it is a poor mate for the ACI speakers ("far to bright"), though I have not had the opportunity to listen to Denon other than in the showroom (i.e. residential performance). Basically looking for input as to the direction I should be basing my inquiries and listening auditions. I'm aware that "my ears" will be the best judge due to subjectivity, but many of the recommendations in this forum are for direct sales manufactures or high end audio retail (limited opportunites for actual audio audition). Also this will be the primary system I will be utilizing so I do need dual performance (at least for a few more years!!)Again any assistance is appreciated.
