Not to complicate things, but "Criterion" was a brand name used by Lafayette Radio Electronics (LRE, remember them? ...sort of like Radio Shack, but with both house-brand and name-brand equipment) in the late '70's. Perhaps Circuit City bought the name when LRE went belly-up, or maybe there really was a Criterion company?mrh
