Hi, George. By any standard, the B&O SP-1 was a killer cartridge. I bought one when it first came out. It listed for $29.95, and its audible performance was directly comparable to the then-TOL Shure, the $45 M3D. Now, while the fifteen dollar difference between an SP-1 and an M3D won't stretch to buy a pizza today, it was then equal to more than $150! It made my single fifteen-inch Tannoy Silver in its fifteen cubic foot Ablewood enclosure really come alive!
