An 8" driver is good to only about 2k for consistent directivity. There are good reasons why you don't find full range line arrays using such a large driver. Successful designs all use much smaller ones.
Here's Roger Russell's IDM-25 using 3.5" drivers:
Scaena took a similar approach using 4" drivers up to 5k where ribbons take over:
The IDS required equalization for the bottom. Scaena used "depth charge" subwoofers.
