I have a pair of DIY three way towers I built in the late 1980s using all Dynaudio drivers, two 9" woofers, two 3" dome midranges and the Esotar soft dome tweeter in a d'Appolito arrangement. They are based on the Dynaudio Myrage DIY plans. The enclosures are of heroic construction with three separate boxes on each side bolted and glued together and containing a matrix of wood and fiber glass cross cabinet braces. They were my main speakers for years.
They sounded good, but I never felt that the crossovers did justice to the drivers. I have plans to eventually put them back in the main system using my DEQX HDP4 DSP to tri-amplify them. The big deterrence to me doing that is that my present fully horn loaded, tri-amplified DIYY speakers sound so good that I have no incentive to replace them even temporarily.
I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.
