Making limited quantities of anything is Expensive.
Even asking for a slight modification to a 'stock' driver can drive costs UP.
Manufacturing is expensive. Once you buy or lease the equipment, the fun is just beginning.
What to make and in what fashion? Getting the right people....And training and getting quality programs in place so you don't make JUNK.
Setting up supply chains for raw materials or sub assemblies is its OWN particular corner of hell.
Your manufacturing SPACE must be well lit and conform to a dozen codes and conventions, from the electrical wiring of the new tooling, to sound loudness levels, to all sorts of safety issues. THAN? If you want to be ISO certified? You must have a huge program of Statistical Process Control with controls and all sorts of OTHER add-ons.
THAN must endure an AUDIT by the sanctioning agency....This'll take anywhere from 3 to 5 days.....and be the equivalent of a rectal exam with a microscope. Good Times!
Too much is never enough
