... a $200 upgrade kit from GR Research. No affiliations here, just passing the word. The main problems with the stock RP600M are a frequency-response dip in the midrange (crossover region) and a lively cabinet. The DIY upgrade kit from GR Research contains vibration damping material to attach to the insides of the cabinet, plus new crossover and speaker terminal parts. The end result is much flatter frequency response and less audible "ringing" in the cabinet structure.
Since you bought your speakers for only $300 this upgrade kit might be worth trying. I have thought about trying it myself, if ever I decide to try a pair of RP600M's.
Another thing you can try costs nothing so I would urge you to try it: Point the speakers so that their frontal axis crosses 2 - 3 feet in front of your listening position, "crossfire fashion". Waveguide speakers often sound better like this, and with a wider listening window. And it costs you nothing to try.
