RE: el cheapo sub crossover

Not sure how the HSU is designed, but my REL has speaker level inputs that are high impedance and intended to be connected to the same amp output as the speakers. The amp of the sub has low pass controls to extract just that portion of the signal freq range that you wish to have the sub reproduce.

One caveat is that this does not work if the amp itself is fully differential, and so with my Ayre amp I have to make use of the line level inputs of the sub instead.
