As I read it originals 2.7, first upgrade 3.0, now thinking 3.3
On a single cap xover that amount of change is not overwhelming but not trivial either and since midbass is single indicator you are getting more and more overlap that original designer didn't have in mind.
So you won't be certain if heard change is make of cap or value of cap
Also not much of a resale value on used caps so can't suggest high buck caps for trying out. Better to get 3 different makers at modest price than one at high price
