RE: I have some carnauba car wax here.

Hi Ghosty,
There is another way out of this.I don't mean to step on the toes of the guys who gave you those great wood finishing tips but sometimes you find a great sounding speaker with a dinged corner and that might mean a new veneer job.
I first rough up the dinged area with 100 grit sandpaper/oil prime/let dry/and rebuild the corner with Bondo from the hardware store. They make a bondo for wood called Minwax wood filler. It's just like bondo and it comes with the little tube of red hardener.Sometimes if you don't get the corner on the first try sand it down and keep adding until you get a nice corner.
Prime the whole speaker cabinet with an oil primer after a light sanding. This will lock in all the oils and stains where a latex will let it bleed through.
I help a friend of mine paint the hull of his lobster boat every year when he brings it out of the water. We use this paint called Petit Easipoxy which comes in all sorts of colors. You get this paint a boating marina not a hardware store. It leaves this real nice hardened shine that looks like AlaskaHiatt's speakers with the Marantz amp he shows a few steps back. It's like a hard black piano finish. You would need a quart.
I did this to a pair of Dyna A-25 Mark2's which had a nice veener like your speaker but one was damaged.I just used black semi gloss from Glidden and new black burlap from a fabric store for the grills.
I found another pair and I'm going to do the Petit Easypoxy on them and will show you the finish as soon as I can ,,,,,take care Ghost....Mark Korda
