try zapping it with a 9V battery while carefully observing the cone movement. if it's rubbing it should deform towards or go off kilter to one side or the other, remount it with that side up ... but always mark the top of a driver before you pull it

where I'm going with this is that often you can realign the VC in the gap by a 180 rotation of the driver while running a low level signal ... test signals work great for this ...
