about 20 years they used to go for $500-800 for a single in ok to good condition. a really good pair would fetch $2000 (for pair) . this was at a time when the venerable altec 505b was only $450 a pair. but that was 20 years ago.
now? the units are 20 years older. fewer to go around now. scarcity means that market prices cant be easily established. the rca speakers were never really robust (tweeter fragile and cone/surround not really industrial;) ; and, buyers are fewer and furthar apart (so no easy way to inspect and hear). so even though they are rarer, the risk factor is much higher. so i wont be surprised if the so-so units are cheaper now. the goods will probably hold mody og their value of 20 years ago but it might take 2+ months to find suitable buyers.
