Congrats - Those are nice subs. Experiment with placing.
As long as both of your preamp outputs are controlled by your volume control, you do not need a splitter. I have this arrangement in my system.
I use a Schiit Loki EQ between the preamp and the mains (not the subs) to roll the bass off the mains for better integration.
