I personally like Focal, typically extended high end, could stand out a bit with the wrong gear, an overall lively sound, dynamic.
"Better" is very subjective. $4k does provide a lot of options though, KEF "r" series, Dynaudio, Totem Acoustics, etc.
The Spacial Audio you might find interesting an dsell direct with in home trial, and you'd have money left.
As do Tekton who have been getting rave reviews.
Another is Orum Cantus, excellent sound with good definition.
As someone mentioned what you will drive them with makes a difference. Size of room. For example, a few speakers mentioned wouldn't be a good match with tube amps unless huge power or the Spacials or Tekton Double Impact may not be the best in a 12x12 room
