I have a friend with a decent ear who's had a pair of the original Lores for several years. When he moved on to a pair of MUCH pricier Daedalus speakers, he still retained the Lores for his HT set up. I would basically say they're a good all around speaker that is not afraid to play all genres. They're efficient, tube friendly and can play fairly loud. Overall, I'd say they fall more in the music lover category than the high resolution camp. IMHO... a pretty solid bang for the buck if what I've said above fits your needs. Plus if buying new, I believe there's a 30 day audition period.
