Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

RE: Try emailing them...

They basically told me I would have to cut open the cabinets to get to the cross over. They also wouldnt share any info on the crossover schematic, which I guess is understandable.

I found a cheap boroscope on line, and if it comes down to it, will scope the cabinet to see where they are mounted. I'm hoping not on the bottom of the speaker, which would be the best entry point.

Whats also peculiar is there is a down firing 12 inch woofer, and the mounting flange is on the side of the inaccessible portion of the cabinet, how they serviced these is beyond me.

However, these listed retail for over $20,000 brand new in the 90's. Perhaps they never intended for them to be serviced, only replaced for perhaps the relatively few failures.

But they definately changed the design looking at the Mark 4 pics you sent, and eventually moved the woofer to the bottom of the cabinet, with easy access.
