In that price range, you might score a used JBL
Sovereign pair. Friends, neighbors, EBAY, Audiogon, etc.
DeVore Fidelity comes to mind as does Sonist.
Klipsch has a new Hi-Eff. unit that's right in
your price range. Show goers were very impressed.
Check on Klipsch's website-- they should have
some reviews from the shows. Again, people liked it.
