I currently run the R610's with a Rogue Sphinx as a temporary amp. I tried them with my Yamaha A-S2000 but they really didn't get along. Ironically, I will end up with a system very much like Samurai7595's after AXPONA in April--unless something amazing happens there. Looking at a McIntosh MA7900 with R630's and a VPI Classic.
I would say that the Ryan sound is just "right" too. Tough to describe. I was an ATC guy for years and thought I'd never get on with a ported speaker. The boxes are well executed and nice if you like the classic look.
I do wonder about the Ryan's with a Rogue Cronus Magnum II with Mullard tubes or a Line Magnetic integrated.
