Blew a tweeter on polk T15.

I have a pair of older version of the T15/R15 bookshelf speakers I aquired last year. The original tweets were silent so I re-used the original baffle plate that says Polk dynamic balance and put new tweeters in the both of them. Also soldered the connections since the metal crimp connectors broke, like glass. (impure metal).

A couple of nights ago I turned on my Onkyo TX-906 Dolby pro logic stereo receiver,(80 watts x 2 at 8 ohms 145 into 4) and unbeknownst to me the Balance knob was ALL THE WAY to the left channel, and the volume knob was ALL THE WAY to it's end stop. The Direct tv box was on.

ROOOOAAAAAPHHHHHHH! It scared me, the woofer is fine but the tweeter on the left channel is dead silent.. Receiver is fine too, didn't go into protector/overload.

I am torn between buying surplus Polk fabric dome, Trilaminate (if availible cheaply) with the same plate, or I could get some Dayton silk domes, and remove them from their little plastic ring and mount them behind the tweeter plate.

or i could get the unlabeled Daytons that have the same size mount and a slightly beefier magnet...

I like the fact the speakers have a lot of tight bass for the size so i dont think i am going to buy new speakers but i have a few pairs on ebay (different speakers) that i have been eyeing.
