I have a pair of 8" Utah coaxials, Pandore's,never heard of them, nice sound. These speakers may have come from a church.
These are in a bass reflex box, does anyone know if there is a capacitor for the tweeter inside somewhere?
As old as these are, the cap must need replaced.
Also the "Cap" on the motor, is a cardboard lid resonating in the wind, which I am assuming is bad for coherent sound.
Is this cap part of the motor design or is it merely a dust cap?
I would like to remove this cap if it does not mess anything else up.
I taped sound absorbtion material to this cap, it must still be
resonating though. I would really like to remove this cardboard cap altogether.
Is this a good plan or am I going to ruin these?
