I agree with you about polyprop drivers self-damping well. I use a large collection of (vintage) Rogers speakers all using this type of driver. Spendor seem to be the only ones still using polyprop drivers.I agree with you about the ringing, cracking, and quacking of modern drive unit materials (carbon fiber, metal, kevlar, etc.) that don't self-damp well. In comparison, I hear very, very little or none of these kinds of colorations with the Rogers and Spendor polyprop drivers.
