Apogees are Still Great Speakers

I heard a pair of Diva's once will all Krells, and it was nearly a life changing experience. In fact, back in 1982, Bob Carver came back home to Seattle from CES in Chicago, and was so excited after hearing them, he set out to make his own Apogee's.

The old Beveridge Electrostatic Cylinders I used to own were also like that.
They had a lens, and you placed them on the side walls, aimed right AT each other, and they would illuminate a room and image like a motherfucker.

I was young then, and had a big Keg party at my house with about 45 people there. A fight broke out, and good bye Beveridge Speakers.
One got demolished in the fight, it cracked open like a pistachio nut.
Surprisingly, my Insurance paid for it !!!!!!!!
Got a 7 grand replacement cost check from State Farm, and bought VMPS Wide Range Ribbons (see IF you know what those were)

I never could get them to work right, and like a dumb fuck, shipped them back to Brian at VMPS.
Wish I NEVER did that. I flew down to Brians, and heard them properly set up. I even lied right to Brian face, told them I still thought they sounded like shit (far from it)
The REAL problem was my friends made fun of me for buying from VMPS, and the old VMPS Wide Range Ribbons were far from pretty.

Brian made it right, and gave me every bit of my money back, actually more!
I left with a set of old VMPS Supertowers, much better for me,at that stage of my life. I was very much in Party Mode back then, and the big powerful VMPS Supertowers, with the big Bedini 200/200 1 meg Brian gave me as part of my refund, would play Black Sabbath and Judas Priest for days at Cop calling levels.
And, actually sound pretty darn good doing it too.
Until one day, during one hell of a a party, the Big Bedini 200/200 1 meg went up in a blue flash of glory.
But good old John and Gary Bedini fixed it, and only charged me shipping!
John, Gary, and Rhonda Bedini, and Brian Cheyney of VMPS.
How the fuck anyone can call them "Black Hats" is beyond me.
