Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Nostalgia makes everything sound better

I had a pair when they first came out. They were nice speakers, probably the best ever made by a mass market Japanese audio company, but hardly great. I sold my pair as fast as I could (via newspaper want ad!) after I bought my B&W DM6's, one of the first fifty pairs imported to the US. Now those were some excellent speakers. The friend who bought those from me still has them, and they still sound pretty good after 36 years of cranking out tunes. I have no idea where the Yamaha's are now, but I bet the old B&W's would still destroy them.

Peace,
Tom E
