You set the field of comparison. You wrote: "Best Mid-Bass of All Times!"

So I countered with one produced first in 1948 that is WAY BETTER.

Now if you had claimed "Best 5" Mid-Bass of All Times!" you may still have had a fight on your hands, but your contention would have stood a chance, as the 5" Revelator is not a very bad 5" driver.

Neither extension, nor directivity (5"Drivers have awefullly crap directivity forcing extensive room treatment to deal with their lack of directivity) or indeed distortion have been ignored. In fact, you may find even a waterfall/CSD will not make the SS Rev look that good.

Most decent 15" Midwoofers can run rings around the SS Rev several times in all parameters.

But what you instead said was: "Best Mid-Bass of All Times!"

You should have written: "Best 5" Mid-Bass to be used in 11 Liter boxes of All Times!".

BTW, you would still be off track, but that is another story.

Based on what I hear it delivers generic low end HiFi sound, I may even be happier with an original LS 3/5 pair using KEF B110, which means not very happy at all.

But THAT is my personal opinion. From someone who considers a hornloaded 12" Driver "a jolly decent lower midrange system"...

At 20 bits, you are on the verge of dynamic range covering fly-farts-at-20-feet to intolerable pain. Really, what more could we need?
