If you are after speakers that are good sounding, well built, easy to resale, classic, and made by a large manufacturer, I would indeed look at B&W (UK), Paradigm (Canada)and Dynaudio (Denmark), but I would add to your list Focal (France) and Revel (USA).
You cannot go wrong with these, check the price versus the list price, and the look also.
As a general rule, the sound quality of well-made speakers is related to... their weight (not joking).
Good luck, tell us the differences you ear between models, it is always interesting to know,
